At the suggestion of Dr Pierre-Michael Meier, CHCIO, the selection jury of the Health Media Award has decided to award the Health:Angel to the University of California San Diego Health System. This is in recognition of the university's leading role during the COVID-19 pandemic and the establishment of scientific exchange between the most important research institutions in the United States of America and Germany. On 26 October 2021, the Health:Angel was handed over by the ENTSCHEIDERFABRIK in San Diego (U.S.A.).
